A Story With A Moral… Allah Changes Conditions.
There was a wealthy couple who were seated and ready to eat from a pot of roasted chicken, when a beggar arrived at their door. The husband went out and chased him away with harsh words. It so happened, that the husband condition deteriorated soon after, and he lost all his possession and wealth, he even divorced his wife, who then married another man. The new couple were seated one day, about to begin eating from the roasted chicken before them, when they heard a beggar knock at the door.
The man said to his wife: “Present this chicken to him.”
She went out to hand the beggar the chicken, but when she returned she had tears in her eyes. Her husband asked her why was she tearing, she replied: “That beggar was once my husband.” She then related the incident when her previous husband had scolded a beggar who had knocked on their door.
Her husband listened to her story with interest and exclaimed: “By Allah, I was that very same beggar.”
Moral: We are told by Allah Thee Almighty in the Quran:
“Say: “O Allah! Lord of Power (and Rule) Thou givest Power to whom Thou pleasest and Thou strippest off power from whom Thou pleasest thou enduest with honour whom thou pleasest, and Thou bringest low, whom Thou pleasest; in Thy hand is all Good. Verily, over all things Thou hast power.” (Surah Al-Imran 3:26)
